Cranial osteopathy is a refined and subtle type of osteopathic treatment that encourages release of stresses and tensions throughout the body. The name is misleading as this approach can be used on all areas of the body, not just the head. It is used in a wide variety of conditions for people of all ages, however it is more commonly known for its use in treating babies and children.
Infants and Children
In the early years of life, the body can respond very quickly to Osteopathic treatment. Parents bring children for treatment for a variety of issues, from birth related injuries, ‘unsettled baby’, feeding difficulties, reflux and colic to growth related concerns, postural strains and sports injuries. Infants and Children are not mini-adults and their treatment requires osteopathic approaches which take account of their developmental stage.
